Can Eggs Fly?

Inspired by London Festival of Architecture’s 2021 theme of 'Care', this fun and engaging workshop will explore how problem-solving and team-building are key to understanding design and engineering challenges, and how creative activities can have a powerful impact on our health and happiness.

How to drop eggs without breaking them (from our 4-metre atrium) will be just one of the challenges explored in this workshop led by a team of Grimshaw architects. We’ll be using a range of materials that you might find at home — from eggs and spaghetti — to paperclips, card and drawing tools.

Explore landmark Grimshaw buildings such as the Eden Project, Waterloo Station and ExCeL London as a starting point to immerse yourself in design, drawing and architecture. You’ll be taught techniques by our architects, and the workshop is suitable for all levels — whether you are passionate about model-making and sketching or have never picked up a pencil before.
